Nighttime Routine

Nighttime Routine

Consistency is one of the things in life that we all crave, in one way or another. Whether it be something as simple as having your two cups of coffee in the morning, or something as complex as needing to do the same exact activities each and every day. Something that I have recently started is having a nighttime routine. I struggle with anxiety and depression, and I’ve come to realize that having this nightly routine, this consistency, has actually helped me out a bit with those struggles. I decided to share what my routine is in hopes of providing inspiration for those with the same struggles as me.

I didn’t want my routine to take up too much time, because I wanted to make sure that it was something that I would be able to do each and every night. Here is my routine:

  1. Make myself a mug of herbal tea. Or, if I’ve had a really stressful day, it’ll be a glass of red wine.
  2. Wash my face and do a facial mask. The mask I will do every couple of days.
  3. Take at least 30 minutes to do something for yourself. For me, this is usually reading or journaling.
  4. Stretching. I do this right before I get into bed and I make sure to stretch my legs, arms, back, and neck.

It’s nice to have these few things to look forward to every night. I hope that this can be helpful to some of you looking to start your own nighttime routine, or if you’re looking to revamp the routine you currently have. If you do already have a routine, I would love to hear what yours is!

XO,

Sarah
